Hector Rolando Lemus-Portillo, of Stamford, is charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle and failure to yield while turning left, police said. Because of their age, the 17-year-old was not identified.
Police said Lemus-Portillo was driving south on Lockwood Avenue in Stamford around 9:15 p.m. on May 17. The teenager was driving north on the same road.
Lemus-Portillo turned left onto William Street and directly into the path of the teen's 2020 Kawasaki motorcycle, authorities said.
Paramedics rushed the teen to Stamford Hospital, where doctors were unable to save his life.
Lemus-Portillo remained at the scene of the crash and cooperated with investigators, Stamford Police said.
Lemus-Portillo turned himself over to the police on Friday, Oct. 25, and was released after posting a $60,000 bail, authorities said. He will return to court on Nov. 8.
Stamford Police Sgt. Ryan McAllister and Officer Lindsey Yanicky conducted the investigation.
